What is matric rage week?

Matric Rage is an iconic annual event for school leavers, primarily in Ballito, Umhlanga, Plettenberg Bay. With a footfall of up to 135 000 people in 2012 visiting the Rage Festival. The event is a great opportunity for youngsters from all across South Africa to get together for a massive celebration after finishing high school.

The main week of Matric Rage for 2013 runs from 27 November to 6 December, with beach concerts, parties and other exciting events.

Why should I book my matric rage week with Matricrage.co.za?

We specialize in organising and running matric rage accommodation and travel. As a specialist we know what to do to make sure that you have an amazing and memorable Matric Rage holiday. We also know what is required to ensure that the event is enjoyed in a safe environment. Security precautions will be in place throughout the matric rage event including security guards at all buildings. Photo ID building entry cards will also be provided to all of our customers.

How do I book?

You can book your matric rage accommodation & travel by completing a form on the matricrage.co.za website.

Is there a booking fee?

Yes, you will be required to pay a R799 per person non-refundable booking fee at the time you make your booking.

How do I pay the deposit & booking fee?

Your deposit and booking fee must be paid by EFT into the following account: (TBC): You can make further payments at anytime. 

What is the deadline for final payment?

Final payment must be received within 48 hours of booking your chosen matric rage week. If payment is not received by this date, your booking will be cancelled and your booking fee will be retained.

What happens if I do not pay by the due date?

Your booking will be at risk of being cancelled.

Can I make changes to my booking after it has been made?

Some changes may incur an amendment fee but you will be able to make the following changes to your booking via.

  •          Edit the name of a group member
  •          Change the email address or contact details of members of the group
  •          Change your travel dates
  •          Replace members of the group
  •          Cancel a room


How many people can stay in my room?

Your room description will include information about the maximum number of people that can share a room. This number must be strictly adhered to at all times due to fire and safety regulations. Anyone found to have more than the maximum number of people in their room will risk eviction and loss of funds.

How much is the breakage deposit, what is it for and when will it be refunded?

You will be required to pay a breakage deposit of R1000 per person to cover any incidental charges or damages. The breakage deposit will be refunded to your nominated bank account approximately 10 days after check out, subject to clearance from the building management. To claim your breakage deposit, please complete the online form 10 days after departure. Please note breakage deposits WILL NOT be processed by telephone or email.

What happens if I want to cancel my booking?

If you cancel your booking outside of 60 days you will lose your full booking fee. If you cancel your booking within 60 days of check in, full payment will be retained by matricrage.co.za. Cancellations must be advised by email to bookings@matricrage.co.za

What happens if one of my roommates wants to cancel their place in the booking?

If a member of your group wishes to cancel, it is the group organizers responsibility to find a replacement. It is critical that the group organiser provides us with the new guest details so that we can provide the correct ID card.


Any cancellations will be subject to loss of booking fee or full payment, subject to the date the cancellation is made. 

Can I cancel my booking after full payment has been taken?

If a booking is cancelled within 60 days of check in then full payment including your booking fee will be forfeited.

Can I move my booking to a different date?

Subject to availability, you may be able to move your booking to a different date. There is an amendment fee of R250 per person to do this. 

What are house rules?

House rules are the hotels/resorts individual terms and conditions by which you agree to abide during your stay. You must ensure that you and all members of your group have read the house rules for your building. By confirming a booking, you are confirming that you and all members of your group have read and agree to these rules.

What are my responsibilities as group organiser?

As group organiser it is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your group have read and understood the house rules and terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to inform other members of your group of any information relating to your booking such as cancellations, name changes and amendments. All correspondence from bookings@matricrage.co.za will be addressed to you. You will also be responsible for ensuring that full payment is made at least 60 days before check in.

It is essential that we have the names and a photo of everybody in your group so that we can provide you with a photo ID. You will not be allowed into the property without this.

Do I need to take out Travel Insurance?

We recommend that you take out travel insurance. Travel insurance will cover you for unexpected events that may lead to you cancelling your booking, travelling to and from the event and your personal belongings during the event. For more information regarding travel.

When will I receive my travel documents?

Your travel documents will be made available to your group organiser 21 days before check in. Documents will not be made available until full payment has been received.

Traditionally the Balito, Umhlanga & Plett have been the most popular destination for year school leavers.

What are 4U Rage passports


4U Rage Passports are available through Rage Agents assigned at over 300 schools nationally. These Rage Passports are a prepaid, easy access pass into all venues and hot spots under the 4U Rage Festival banner. There are four types of 4U Rage Festival Passports available: VIP Platinum Passport, Ballito Passport, Umhlanga Passport and Plett Rage Passport.

With all Passports, Ragers can look forward to discounts at many fast food outlets, restaurants, bottles stores, clothing stores and activities in each region. VIP Platinum Passport holders even get their very own limited edition merchandise as part of the package at no extra cost. If I cancel do I lose my booking fee?

As per our terms and conditions, the R799 booking fee is non-refundable. 

Can I book flights and transfers with MatricRage.co.za?

Flights and transfers are available for booking. We also offer special matric rage charter flights on request.
